Clinical Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our team in a challenging and rewarding role that will support us to increase our workforce capacity and implement strategies for managing Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD).

About the Role

The ARF/RHD Clinical Nurse will play a key role in embedding standardised processes for ARF/RHD management, including staff training, prevention activities, clinical care and care coordination of people living with RHD. This position will work closely with the RhD Program Coordinator to develop and implement effective strategies to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and manage ARF/RHD in accordance with best practice guidelines;
  • Provide clinical care and support to individuals living with RHD, including education and counseling on self-management techniques;
  • Conduct training and professional development sessions for healthcare staff on ARF/RHD management and prevention;
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and services for people living with RHD;
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A registered nurse qualification and current registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body;
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a community-based or public health context;
  • Strong knowledge of ARF/RHD management and prevention, including best practice guidelines and evidence-based interventions;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Aboriginal communities, healthcare staff and other professionals;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and cooperation;
  • High level of organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
