About the Role

A key strategic initiative focused on delivering cutting-edge Fleet Management and Autonomy solutions seeks an experienced Senior Back-End Developer to craft high-performance backend services.

As part of a collaborative agile team, you will work on developing advanced dispatching systems, high-precision machine guidance, and autonomous vehicle control technologies that transform large-scale mining operations.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring technical leadership and collaboration with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and Domain Experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and system behaviors aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the technical delivery of complex features from design through to deployment.
  • System Architecture: Influence system architecture and drive engineering best practices via participation in design reviews.
  • Code Quality: Ensure high code quality and maintainability via automated testing, peer code reviews, refactoring, and clear documentation.
  • System Improvement: Continuously enhance system reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support junior engineers within the development squad.
  • Integration: Collaborate with Domain Engineers to ensure seamless integration with shared platforms, frameworks, and enterprise standards.
  • Technical Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage technical risks and architectural gaps early in the delivery lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in backend software development.
  • Strong skills in C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and RabbitMQ.
  • Solid experience with SQL Server and deep understanding of relational database design and performance.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architectures and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Comfortable working in Linux-based environments.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Bonus: Exposure to Akka.NET or actor-based programming models.
