Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Case Worker. This role presents an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

As a Case Worker, you will be responsible for providing tailored support, case management, and advocacy to help people access safe accommodation, essential services, and build more stable futures.

About the Role
  • You will conduct client intakes, assessments, and develop case plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention, information, referrals, and ongoing support.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with government agencies, courts, and service providers.
  • Undertake home visits with clients in temporary or transitional accommodation.
  • Facilitate connections to life skills and education programs.
  • Maintain accurate client records and case notes.
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for all service users.
  • Build partnerships with community services and stakeholders.
  • Support service delivery targets and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Assist in supervising volunteers and students on placement.
Requirements
  • A minimum Certificate IV (or current tertiary study) in welfare, community services, or a related field is required.
  • Experience working with people who are homeless or disadvantaged is essential.
  • You must have a strong understanding of issues including family breakdown, mental illness, addiction, and social disadvantage.
  • Knowledge of local community support services and ability to foster strong partnerships is necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Solid computer and administrative skills are also necessary.
  • You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
