Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of projects from inception to completion, interfacing with design consultants, construction professionals, and the client.

About the Role

  • Project Planning: Collaborating with clients and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Developing comprehensive project plans, including pre-construction programs, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Leading and motivating a skilled team of professionals, ensuring clear communication channels and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Quality Control: Implementing strict quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the highest standards are met. Conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Budget Management: Monitoring project finances, tracking expenditures, and managing cost-control strategies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation plans to avoid project delays or overruns.
  • Client Relations: Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing regular project updates. Addressing any concerns or changes efficiently and professionally.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Preconstruction / Tendering: Possessing a sound understanding of the tender process for both D&C and construction-only tenders.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience within the commercial construction industry - ideally in fitout.
  • Experience delivering projects ranging from $500K to $10M+
  • Competent user of Procore or equivalent
  • Qualified in Diploma of Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively forecast and manage project budgets
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Solid knowledge of on-site safety requirements
  • Proficient in developing pre-construction programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
