Job Title: Highway Maintenance Specialist

The Highway Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the implementation of patching and shoulder drain maintenance programs.

This individual will work independently with minimal supervision, developing detailed project plans for the delivery of works, and collaborating with the Civil Construction and Maintenance Section.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development of Patching Program: Conduct site assessments to identify heavy patch areas, manage and coordinate with Traffic Control Team during marking process, prepare and deliver Request for Quote (RFQ) to client's Procurement policies.
  • Shoulder and Table Drain Maintenance Program: Develop program with Condition rating of council's shoulder and table, prepare and deliver RFQ to client's Procurement policies for delivery of Shoulder grading and table drain maintenance, deliver Order of Shoulder Maintenance Program to both external contractor and in-house maintenance crew.

Requirements:

  • Class C Driving License Holder
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good time management
  • Development of detailed project plans for delivery of works
  • 3-to-5-year experience in highway maintenance
  • Report to Asset Management Team but will be heavily collaborate with Civil Construction and Maintenance Section
  • Engineering qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of highway maintenance and ability to drive a Council vehicle, mobility around a construction work site.
