Job Description
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of product strategies that drive profitable growth within the Design and Engineering Practitioners PI market.

We are seeking an experienced underwriting manager with a proven track record in leading teams to deliver strategic goals and objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build and implement underwriting guidelines, delegated authorities, and profit and loss management processes that support business growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of intermediary markets, underwriting principles, and insurance products, particularly in DEP PI. They will also possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technology vendors and internal teams to define and build technology solutions that support business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute product strategies that drive profitable growth within the Design and Engineering Practitioners PI market.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams to deliver strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and implement underwriting guidelines, delegated authorities, and profit and loss management processes.
  • Work closely with technology vendors and internal teams to define and build technology solutions that support business goals.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in Design and Engineering Practitioners PI (or equivalent Construction PI).
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams in the insurance industry with a focus on product development, strategy, underwriting and financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of intermediary markets, underwriting principles, and insurance products, particularly in DEP PI.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technology vendors and internal teams to define and build technology solutions that support business goals.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance strategy and pricing algorithms.
