Job Description

We're seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team in Darling Downs. As a Disability Support Worker, you'll provide support and care to individuals with complex mental and physical disabilities in their own homes. Your role will involve assisting with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and supporting clients to engage in community-based activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and care to individuals with complex mental and physical disabilities
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care and domestic duties
  • Promote independence and support clients to engage in community-based activities
  • Model and encourage appropriate social behaviors as necessary
Requirements
  • Individual Support (Disability) Certificate III or higher
  • Experience working with people with disabilities, particularly those with mental health issues
  • Previous skills and qualifications in medication assistance and administration (HLTHPS00- Assist Clients with Medication)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of incident reporting, quality documentation, complaints handling, and complex behavior strategic support
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives
