About the Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Buyer to join our team at Metcash, where you'll take ownership of key categories within our Grocery, NonFood, and General Merchandise portfolio. As a proactive professional with a keen eye for market trends and a passion for building strong relationships, you'll help drive sales and unlock growth opportunities.

In this Role

  • Manage and grow a diverse portfolio, focusing on supplier and retailer relationships.
  • Leverage your negotiation skills to deliver the best outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Use data-driven insights to maximize sales, profit, and distribution across WA.
  • Coordinate promotional activations and manage category performance, including markdowns and competitor analysis.
  • Present trends and opportunities to key stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

You're Likely a Match If

  • 5+ years of experience in the FMCG sector (store management, sales, or account management).
  • 3+ years of buying experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • A data-driven approach with strong attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and delivering great results for independent retailers in WA.
