Commitment to reconciliation and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is essential for a successful organisation. We are dedicated to empowering Indigenous voices and fostering inclusive environments.
A passionate and experienced leader in Aboriginal affairs is required to guide our business towards cultural safety, inclusivity, and empowerment. The ideal candidate will have strong cultural roots, deep connections to community, and a lived understanding of Indigenous worldviews.
Key Responsibilities:- Driving Cultural Inclusion: Lead the delivery and governance of an Aboriginal inclusion plan through integrated targets, performance measures, and accountability frameworks for recruitment, retention, and development strategies.
- Indigenous Employment and Leadership: Deliver a sustainable framework for attracting, retaining, and developing Indigenous talent by establishing career pathways, leadership pipelines, and cultural mentoring programs that enable long-term success.
- Cultural Safety and Pastoral Care: Develop a cross-functional approach to cultural safety that supports Indigenous employees' wellbeing, fosters inclusion, and embeds culturally appropriate support structures across sites.
- Cultural Awareness Training: Embed a whole-of-organisation approach to cultural capability by providing a framework of online, face-to-face, and immersive training and engagement, as well as supporting inclusion programs for leaders/teams that drive lasting behavioural and systemic change.
- Amplifying Indigenous Development: Embed mechanisms that elevate the voices and aspirations of Indigenous employees and create development opportunities for growth into leadership roles.
- Strategic Partnerships: Foster genuine, values-driven relationships with Indigenous communities and organisations that create meaningful impact and advance our Reconciliation Journey.
As a seasoned leader, you bring 8-10 years of experience in a business, government, or community context, with a demonstrated ability to drive meaningful outcomes. Your cultural authority and confidence will guide senior leaders, grounded in a deep understanding of Indigenous worldviews and contemporary challenges.
With a passion for fostering inclusive environments, you excel at engaging across cultures, building trust, and influencing through integrity and empathy. Your collaborative leadership style enables you to lead a small team while working across diverse functions and navigating complexity with cultural sensitivity.
