Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled food preparation professional to join our team as a Delicatessen Assistant. As a Delicatessen Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and packaging various meal options, including entrees, salads, party trays, rotisserie chicken, sliced meats, and cheeses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare take-and-bake pizzas in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  • Stock and rotate merchandise in the display case to ensure optimal visibility and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, employees, and suppliers by being attentive, courteous, and responsive to their needs.
  • Follow proper safety procedures and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Rotating Roster:

The position includes weekend work hours between 5am-11pm.

Equipment Maintenance:

Dismantle equipment, wash, rinse, and sanitize removable parts, equipment in the Deli and Rotisserie rooms.

Display Case Maintenance:

Inspect and reassemble equipment, addressing any corrective actions from the previous night.

Cleanliness and Sanitation:

Keep the work area clean and sanitized throughout the day, following sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.

Quality Assurance:

Complete and comply with 11 commandments of Quality assurance, food safety certification, department-specific training, and all safety training required by the warehouse, Service Deli, and Rotisserie Department.

Health Code Compliance:

Comply with health code regulations by following sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.

Supply Management:

Stock and rotate supplies in the cooler/freezer.

Waste Removal:

Remove rubbish from the department and work areas.

Vehicle and Equipment Operation:

Operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler.

Food Preparation:

Skever and load chicken into rotisserie ovens.

Packing and Display:

Packages, labels, and displays chicken in the hot holding cabinet.

Assembly and Preparation:

Assemble platters, pizzas, sushi, salads, raw meats, and other items sold in the Service Deli and Rotisserie Departments.

Customer Service:

Provide and ensure prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
