Network Technical Specialist

We are seeking a driven and experienced Network Technical Specialist to support and operate Telstra's operating environments in our Global Operations Centre.
Job DescriptionThe role is crucial for improving customer experience and NPS ratings for security, applications, and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high availability and performance service levels within technically complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintaining high availability and performance service levels within technically complex environments.
- Working effectively as a leader, technology specialist or project operative to produce agreed business outcomes.
- Detecting and responding to customer impacting events, including proactive identification and resolution of Network at Risk events.
- Communicating with stakeholders, support groups, DevOps and Incident Management teams, and external partners and organisations.
- Monitoring alarms and managing incidents end-to-end (from creation to resolution).
- Managing changes and organising hardware replacement activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Demonstrated relevant professional experience in real-time operational environments, preferably with some exposure to large and complex, mixed technology internet facing systems and applications.
- Operational experience in a broad range of technology areas, including a good understanding of the ITIL framework.
- A high level of problem solving and analytical skill, self-motivation, and a willingness to own and solve issues.
- Well-developed written and oral communications skills, as well as the ability to work harmoniously as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good personal tact, discretion, judgement, and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to work in a shift environment covering 24x7x365 operations.
Desirable Skills
The following skills are highly desirable:
- Scripting, data analysis, and business improvement experience.
- Practical experience in negotiating and making presentations to a range of audiences, including vendors.
- Relevant security, Unix, LINUX, or Windows certification(s), as well as networking certification.
Salary
The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
