About the Role

This critical position plays a pivotal part in ensuring timely resolution of key issues, driving a sustainable business that meets customer promises. The Product Metallurgist is accountable for developing, maintaining, and improving product quality systems, including measurement and inspection processes, while aiding in process control management and driving cost and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of clear directions, specifications, and procedures to enable sustainable quality performance and control of the manufacturing process.
  • Act as the voice of the customer across the business, managing investigations into customer complaints.
  • Implement and monitor measures of key process variables and product characteristics, providing analysis and systems to enable operations to deliver quality products to customers.
  • Ensure effective communication between all levels of the business.
  • Act as the NATA signatory.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Material Science.
  • Significant experience in product quality management.
  • A strong understanding of steelmaking and rolling mill processes.
  • Previous experience in Wire Rod Mills is highly regarded.
