About the Role

Robert Walters Australia is seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering multiple data-focused solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement solution architecture designs for medium and large-sized business applications within the Government sector.
  2. Model high-level business scenarios with technology components and users, identifying key data fields and entities when integrations are required.
  3. Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with their respective standards, patterns, and strategies.
  4. Review architecture designs in a peer or governance format and provide feedback based on quality, risks, and alternative options.
  5. Develop draft quality architecture documents in a workshop-style session, producing system context or sequences in a format that technical and non-technical attendees can understand.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 8 years of experience in producing Solution Architecture designs for medium and large-sized business applications within Government.
  2. Experience with platform replacement of one or more core business or business supporting applications.
  3. Familiarity with REST and Event APIs and Design by contract principles, UML notation, Archimate or similar, and using lean tooling such as PlantUML, Archi, Confluence, and JIRA.
  4. Experience working with technology and business stakeholders and supporting their respective standards, patterns, and strategies.

Nice-to-Have Technical Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience with Service Layer architecture or reusable integration API development.
  2. Experience with Managed Service Partners.
  3. Knowledge of Azure Infrastructure, Compute, or PaaS.
  4. Experience with Integration, MS365, App Dev, AD/AAD, IDAM, Windows, and Security.
