Coordinating Commemorations and Events Specialist

The Australian War Memorial's commemorative program is renowned for its high standard, with the Events and Ceremonies team playing a crucial role in its delivery. This includes coordinating and delivering national commemorations, minor ceremonies and events, as well as official visits to the Memorial.
As a Coordinating Commemorations and Events Specialist, you will work individually and as part of a team to plan and deliver assigned ceremonial and event projects, as well as official visits. You will take the lead on assigned projects with guidance from senior team members and managers, while also assisting other team members in the delivery of their projects.
The position requires a highly organised and motivated individual who can prioritise tasks while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Effective communication is essential to achieve desired outcomes, managing internal and external relationships, and reporting project updates to other team members and managers.
Demonstrated experience with or understanding of event and/or project management principles is required. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of administrative and communication skills with attention to detail, familiarity with government procurement and WHS processes, and well-developed stakeholder management experience.
This role requires manual handling, working outside core business hours, on weekends, public and school holidays as needed. Peak periods in March, April, October, and November require additional work commitments for the preparations and delivery of Anzac and Remembrance Day national commemorations.
Salary: AU$60,000 - AU$80,000 per annum, depending on experience
