Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work as a Specialist Psychiatrist in a major referral hospital in Far North Queensland. The hospital cares for patients from the Torres Strait to Tully, serving an estimated resident population of 289,000 and operating as a 531 bed facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with complex mental health needs
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet individual patient needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • Specialist qualification in Psychiatry
  • Relevant experience in adult community psychiatry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1630 hours. No nights, weekends, or on-call duties are required.
