About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Eastern Health, working in partnership with consumers, carers, families and other service providers to provide high quality occupational therapy assessment, treatment and consultation services within a recovery-oriented framework across adult inpatient mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized occupational therapy assessment and treatment plans to support recovery
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, carers and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised plans
  • Engage consumers in meaningful daily activities and occupations
  • Collaborate with external agencies to support consumers and their families
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development

About You:

  • You will possess registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency
  • A minimum of 12 months post graduate experience as a registered Occupational Therapist in mental health is preferred
  • You will demonstrate relevant theoretical knowledge, experience and skills in providing evidence based occupational therapy assessment and treatment in a mental health setting
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience in delivering recovery oriented mental health practice
  • Demonstrated ability to engage consumers in the development and implementation of individualised plans
