Senior Web Development Leader

As a Senior Web Development Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a global team of web developers to manage and develop eCommerce projects. Your primary goal is to ensure that the development team's goals align with the greater goals across the global organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to lead web development scoping, planning, and technical architecture for all projects involving web development.
  • Provide leadership to Australian and Global team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training and development.
  • Manage a development team (currently 3 full-time developers) as well as third-party developers (part-timers, contractors, and partner-teams) to ensure the technical quality, product quality, and efficient use of resources.
  • Own and implement global standards for Development and QA processes for all projects and tasks.
  • Establish and maintain foundational code libraries to boost team efficiency and reduce time spent on repetitive tasks.
  • Take a hands-on development approach when necessary to create new pages and features across the whole stack, focusing on the presentation layer.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and ensure team members follow them as well.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new technology beneficial to the organization's goals.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of eCommerce web development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a development team and technology vendors.
  • 3+ years of experience using CMS platforms such as Magento, Big Commerce, Shopify & Neto.
  • Experience building and managing nearshore, offshore, and onsite development teams simultaneously.
  • Strong, current knowledge of modern web application development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, REST, and React for front-end and back-end applications.
  • Must have strong technical, organizational, and communications skills, along with a passion for user-centered technology.
