Senior Automation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Automation Specialist to join our dynamic Technology Operations team.

About the Role

The Senior Automation Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable testing of digital products and services.

  • Automation Strategy & Delivery: Lead the development of scalable test automation frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining automated test scripts for regression, smoke, and functional testing, and integrating them into CI pipelines to support fast, reliable deployments.
  • Mentoring & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior automation engineers, promoting best practices and high code quality. It also involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality automation scripting.
  • Defect Identification & Continuous Improvement: Support test execution, analyses failures, and works closely with engineering teams to isolate and resolve defects. It also contributes to enhancing test coverage, execution efficiency, and reporting within the automation practice.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in test automation, DevOps, or CI/CD are highly regarded.
  • Experience with BDD tools, containerisation (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), cloud environments (AWS or Azure), or work in regulated industries is an advantage.
