Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing holistic and comprehensive nursing support to individuals throughout their journey with the Withdrawal Unit.

About This Role

This is a casual position, based in Highgate, WA. As a Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with participants, healthcare professionals, and the broader Bridge House team to provide trauma-informed, person-centered care.

  • Conduct clinical observations, including withdrawal assessment using relevant assessment tools.
  • Provide low-medical support, including medication administration, basic wound care, health assessment, and screening.
  • Develop health-related withdrawal treatment plans in collaboration with participants and the Bridge House team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Degree or equivalent in Nursing and a current Div 1 certificate.
  • Practical experience in AOD sector service delivery, with an understanding of addictive behavior and drugs, both illicit and licit.
  • Demonstrated skills in triage, medical assessment, decision making, and providing appropriate nursing interventions during crisis.
  • Demonstrated competence in infection control procedures.
  • Competent computer skills to use Microsoft office programs, such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Sharepoint.
  • The ability to work a rotating roster of morning, evening, and night shifts, including weekends and weekdays.
  • Evidence of current and full nursing registration with AHPRA as Division 1 (RN).
