Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and reviewing electrical engineering design work, producing drawings and documentation, and preparing design estimates for projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or administer the work of Electrical designers and drafters, including the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
  • Develop designs for complete and complex Electrical engineering systems, including single line diagrams, schematics, block diagrams, general arrangements, layouts, and installation details, ensuring compliance with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Assist in constructing detailed scale models.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Monitor and check work for compliance with approved Electrical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, guides, and procedures relevant to the electrical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidiscipline team for EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Proficient in electrical discipline with the ability to resolve a wide range of issues.
  • Experience in the instrumentation discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Extensive Microstation and/or AutoCAD, as well as 3D modeling skills, are essential.
  • Supplemental experience in SmartPlant 3D, Tekla, 3D Lighting design, SmartPlant Electrical, and SmartPlant Instrumentation will be highly regarded.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
