Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for 1800 to 1900 employees and Executives per payroll, ensuring accurate payment of salaries and wages.
- Verify timekeeping records and consult employees regarding any discrepancies.
- Adjust employee tax statuses and withholding information as needed.
- Prepare manual checks for distribution to employees.
- Update employee banking information to ensure accurate payment processing.
- Maintain and record approved leave applications, including Yooralla paid parental leave and LSL.
- Provide support to employees regarding payroll issues, Award and Enterprise Agreement matters, separation certificates, and termination processes.
- Manage Smart Salary Packaging arrangements and deductions in accordance with guidelines.
- Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks.
- Ensure all supporting payroll documentation and reports are securely scanned and/or filed appropriately in a timely manner.
- End-to-End payroll processing functionality understanding is required.
Requirements:
- Experience processing payroll from beginning to end for approximately 1900 staff.
- Proficiency in using Ascender and Kronos software or similar.
- Ability to interpret awards and enterprise agreements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet regular deadlines.
