Your Responsibilities:

In collaboration with a long-standing client of Calibre on a major initiative, this role will take charge of daily contractual matters, concentrating on construction and service agreements for a project currently in the early execution phase. Your duties will encompass:

  • Coordinating the commercial and technical assessment of bids and ensuring that purchase orders adhere to the necessary specifications.
  • Identifying and suggesting suitable procurement strategies to reduce costs without compromising service quality.
  • Drafting and issuing tender documents, inquiries, and purchase orders for high-value/high-risk items.
  • Contributing to and evaluating the scopes of work and contract terms.
  • Assessing, reviewing, and advising senior/project managers regarding contractor claims for variations, progress claims, and extensions.
  • Ensuring all commercial obligations of the contracts are fulfilled; and fostering and maintaining strong professional relationships with key suppliers.

About You:

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, engineering, law, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in establishing and managing high-value long-term service contracts.
  • A solid understanding of large-scale mining and resource projects, particularly in Iron Ore.
  • Previous experience in an EPC/EPCM environment during the study phase.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to following procedures.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to cultivate effective relationships with clients.
