About the Position: We are looking for a skilled ESG Specialist to join our team in Tokyo, Japan. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on ESG and sustainable finance assignments and research, developing expertise in ESG, and contributing to the development of new products in the ESG space. Reporting to Bertrand Jabouley, Head of Sustainable Finance APAC, the specialist will lead individual assignments, interact with credit rating analytical teams, and conduct research and analysis on ESG themes.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading individual assignments on ESG and sustainable financing instruments and frameworks;
  • Becoming a subject matter expert to support ESG in ratings, interacting with credit rating analytical teams to include environmental, social, and governance factors in credit risk analysis and industry-based publications;
  • Representing the team externally through market outreach and customer interactions;
  • Conducting research and analysis on ESG themes and their impact on organizations in Japan and the region over the short, medium, and long term.

What We're Looking For: A Bachelor's degree in sustainability, finance, or a related field, with relevant work experience in sustainable finance/ESG. Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are essential. Experience with Excel data manipulation and Powerpoint presentation delivery is highly desirable.
