About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Server/Virtualisation Specialist to join our team at 3tconsulting. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to projects and business areas, leading technical deliverables, and maintaining, monitoring, and upgrading virtual service environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to projects and business areas, and lead the technical deliverables.
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade the Virtual Service Environment (VSE) environments and servers in accordance with vendor recommendations and ensure fit for purpose.
- Plan, design, develop, test, and maintain new or existing virtual service developments in accordance with guidelines and in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Configure and deploy virtual services and servers in accordance with the applications operational model governed by application owners.
- Define and lead the analysis, planning, execution, delivery, and performance improvement activities using appropriate tools.
- Promote the adoption of virtual services through walkthroughs/demos to ICT stakeholders and project teams.
- Provide support and guidance to project teams for maintaining their own virtual service environments.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience as a Windows Server/Virtualisation Specialist.
- Demonstrated high-order communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to distil requirements from complex scenarios and processes, including develop new processes where required.
- Demonstrated analytical background and experience in both Agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing Wintel and VMware Infrastructure operations expertise in the following core competencies:
- Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Active Directory.
- Microsoft SCCM.
- Microsoft Hyper-V & VMM.
- Microsoft SCOM.
- Microsoft File and Print.
- VMware ESX & vSphere.
- VMware vRA.
- VMware vSAN.
- VMware NSX.
- VMware virtualisation on HCI.
Desirable Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in implementing IT solutions for large, highly integrated government or similar scale private organisations.
- Microsoft and/or VMware Certifications, or related technologies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing Wintel and VMware Infrastructure operations expertise in the following core competencies:
- Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft Office 365.
- Amazon Web Services.
- CI/CD Jenkins, Nexus, or similar.
- Ansible/Puppet.
