Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Professional to join our team. As a key member of our forensic accounting and advisory services practice, you will undertake a wide range of engagements including complex commercial disputes, litigation support and expert witness engagements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accounting and financial analysis, presenting findings in a written form, supervising junior staff, and working directly with senior members of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting financial analysis using Microsoft Excel and other tools to solve problems
  • Reviewing information received and identifying further information required to complete the analysis
  • Analysing and interpreting large volumes of information, including accounting, financial and banking records
  • Reviewing financial statements for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Undertaking research into companies and industries using Capital IQ and other data sources
  • Preparing expert reports, client reports and presentations that detail project scope, methodology and findings
  • Interacting and meeting with clients, including lawyers, in-house counsel and senior accounting personnel
  • Developing project planning and management skills
  • Supervising the work of junior staff and providing coaching to junior team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines
  • Completed or working towards an Australian or internationally recognised professional accounting qualification
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, including experience such as forensic accounting, business valuations, auditing and/or management accounting
  • Strong understanding of, and interest in, forensic accounting
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English required
  • Experience in writing reports
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information
  • Experience of leading small teams
  • Ability to work on multiple client matters at one time
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding, deadline-driven situations
  • Strong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalism
