
Expert Forensic Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Professional to join our team. As a key member of our forensic accounting and advisory services practice, you will undertake a wide range of engagements including complex commercial disputes, litigation support and expert witness engagements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accounting and financial analysis, presenting findings in a written form, supervising junior staff, and working directly with senior members of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting financial analysis using Microsoft Excel and other tools to solve problems
- Reviewing information received and identifying further information required to complete the analysis
- Analysing and interpreting large volumes of information, including accounting, financial and banking records
- Reviewing financial statements for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Undertaking research into companies and industries using Capital IQ and other data sources
- Preparing expert reports, client reports and presentations that detail project scope, methodology and findings
- Interacting and meeting with clients, including lawyers, in-house counsel and senior accounting personnel
- Developing project planning and management skills
- Supervising the work of junior staff and providing coaching to junior team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines
- Completed or working towards an Australian or internationally recognised professional accounting qualification
- 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, including experience such as forensic accounting, business valuations, auditing and/or management accounting
- Strong understanding of, and interest in, forensic accounting
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English required
- Experience in writing reports
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Detailed knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications
- Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information
- Experience of leading small teams
- Ability to work on multiple client matters at one time
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding, deadline-driven situations
- Strong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalism
