About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced barista to join our cafe team at The Shoreline, a luxury aged care facility on the Mid North Coast of NSW.

As a member of our team, you will deliver a high standard of coffee and food service to our residents and their families.

You will be responsible for preparing the cafe for the day's trade, checking and replenishing stock, taking and preparing orders for customers, and managing the preparation of orders to minimise wait time.

You will also be responsible for presenting all items with a level of finesse and in line with Chef's instructions, cleaning in between meals, wiping down tables, and clearing dirty plates and trays.

Additionally, you will be able to work around people, be polite and accepting of resident input, and close down the cafe at the end of the day.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of compassion, who demonstrates kindness and empathy with the elderly and other diverse individuals.

You will possess an intuitive responsiveness to aged care residents' individual wants and needs, whilst maintaining calm, composed, and optimistic when faced with stressful or high-pressure situations.

You will be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to bettering the life of our aged care residents and driven to be a part of a facility that truly aims to set a new standard.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated empathy with and commitment to the care of older people
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in delivering exceptional customer-centred service outcomes
  • Ability to demonstrate kindness and empathy across all channels and model behaviours that align with The Shoreline's vision and CREED
  • Understanding of the ageing process and a commitment to advocate for older people in residential care and/or home care
  • Police check clearance; and
  • Up-to-date vaccination as required by legislation or industry best practice from time to time
