Job Opportunity: Cloud Software Engineer

We are looking for a talented and experienced Cloud Software Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on building and maintaining our cloud-based software platform.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions using AWS services such as IAM, Route53, CloudFront, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, SES, and EventBridge. You will also implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of AWS infrastructure.

As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture and implement best practices. You will also apply SRE principles to monitor and optimize cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar role, working on SaaS products. They will also have proficiency in AWS services and architecture, including Route53, CloudFront, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, SES, and EventBridge.

AWS certification is a plus, but not required. Experience with serverless computing and microservices architecture is also desirable.

This is a full-time position based in Sydney, Australia. The successful applicant will need to be available to work from the office 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions for our SaaS product.">
  • Utilise AWS services including IAM, Route53, CloudFront, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, SES, and EventBridge to name a few.">
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of AWS infrastructure.">
  • Develop API first backend services using Typescript, Java and Spring Boot.">
  • Make changes to the frontend SPA using Typescript, React, and TailwindCSS.">
  • Design and manage databases using PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.">
  • Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Flux.">
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture and implement best practices.">
  • Apply SRE principles to monitor and optimise cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability with Splunk Observibility.">
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes including CI/CD processes.">
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends to recommend improvements.">

Qualifications:

  • At least five years experience as a Software Engineer or similar role, working on SaaS products.">
  • Proficiency in AWS services and architecture, including Route53, CloudFront, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, SES, and EventBridge.">
  • Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).">
  • Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs using Typescript, Java and Spring Boot.">
  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.">
  • Experience in Git for version control.">
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.">
