The Role
This role is a key RPG development position where you will design and develop free format RPG code to implement sprint goals and deliver value to business partners. You will contribute to the design and development of modern APIs servicing customer data stored in the iSeries database. Your expertise in OOP, free format RPG, and embedded DB2 SQL will be invaluable in modernizing legacy code bases to enhance performance. Additionally, you will work closely with front-end developers to provide REST APIs in different interfacing languages. Your attention to detail will ensure the integrity of customer data while exposing interactions in online and consultant-facing applications.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of commercial experience in modern RPG development, excellent knowledge of OOP, and strong experience in free format RPG and embedded DB2 SQL. You will also have expertise in modernization of legacy code bases to enhance performance, strong knowledge of RESTful API design and development, and experience using RDi and Aldon. Proficiency in monitoring tools such as New Relic and knowledge of XML and JSON are also required. You will be able to work in the Atlassian suite of products, including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
