Transportation Planner

We are seeking a skilled Planning Officer to join our team at GHD, working closely with Main Roads WA on a fixed-term contract until June 2025 based in Geraldton.

This exciting opportunity will see you working with an energetic and high-performing team, offering a variety of work and the chance to be involved in:

• Processing applications for third parties seeking approval to undertake work within the road reserve
• Maintaining the 'Third Party Work within the Road Reserve' Register
• Coordinating responses to planning referrals and preliminary enquiries relating to sub-division, development applications, and town planning schemes, and assisting to maintain the planning register
• Monitoring and assisting customers in compliance with conditions set for development and access applications
• Assisting with other enquiries relating to Main Roads reserves and Network Access

We are looking for a candidate with experience in planning processes, project/infrastructure-related work within road reserves, and research, analysis, and problem-solving skills. You should also have strong written communication and report-writing abilities, as well as knowledge of land acquisition and development processes.

Additionally, proficiency in using computer-based mapping systems is essential for this role.
