Blue Collar Skills is seeking a talented jeweller to join their team in Melbourne, VIC. This role offers an exceptional work environment and the chance to work with some of the finest diamonds, colored stones, and precious metals.
SalaryThe competitive salary for this position ranges from $80K to $100K per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires a skilled jeweller with an eye for detail and a passion for creating exquisite pieces. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting diamonds and colored stones using various techniques, including pave, cutdown, bright cut, fancy prong, bead, channel, and burnishing.
- Setting diamonds and colored stones using various techniques
- Performing ring resizing and minor repairs
- Working alongside jewellers and CAD designers on stone arrangement and metal layouts for new designs
- Offering technical advice on setting techniques for larger volume production
- Conducting 100% inspection of mountings pre-setting and quality assessment post-setting
- Accurately recording daily production results, ensuring work order accuracy, reconciling stones used, and reporting discrepancies
- Assisting in the training and development of emerging jewellers in the team
To be considered for this role, you must have at least 3 years of experience as a jeweller, with a formal qualification preferred if less experience. You should also have proficiency in all setting techniques, including the ability to assess space requirements for pave or beading settings and layout stones accurately.
