As the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance for the Western region, you'll be at the forefront of managing all aspects of Aircraft Maintenance, including Line Maintenance, and ensuring Stores performance objectives are met for your region.

In this leadership role, you'll guide, manage, and mentor the Aircraft Maintenance Team to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards in line with Virgin Tech's and Virgin Australia's regulatory requirements, all while delivering excellent customer service and achieving financial targets that align with the company's corporate goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of skilled Aircraft Maintenance professionals.
  • Staying up-to-date with all relevant regulatory bodies involved in the certification of aircraft and parts.
  • Fostering strategic relationships with industry partners that align with corporate objectives.
  • Ensuring all team members comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and approved maintenance data.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing resources and facilities efficiently.
  • Acting as a liaison with CASA, VA Regulatory Services, and VA Airline Publications.
  • Fulfilling CASA Part 145 Responsible Manager duties for your region.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Formal qualifications in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Cert IV or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of CASA airworthiness requirements.
  • Proven experience in airworthiness and engineering operations within the aviation industry.
  • A strong track record of leading, coaching, and mentoring teams.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • A Level 2 APAM driver's license.
