Reliable Maintenance Technician Wanted for the Northern Beaches

A successful company based on the Northern Beaches is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their team.
The role involves responsible maintenance and repair of facilities, plant, and equipment using troubleshooting skills to determine the best approach. Previous experience with plastic injection moulding machines, auxiliaries, mobile and fixed plant equipment, general welding skills, and machine capabilities would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Leading efforts to upgrade plant and facility for efficiency, safety, and reliability
- Following regulatory, safety, and sanitation requirements for plant operations
- Developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program
- Collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and monitoring or planning jobs to be completed by contractors
- Controlling costs, scheduling, and development of maintenance activities
- Managing repairs, supplies, purchases, and budget
- Providing on-call services for emergency repairs outside regular hours
- Actively attending all maintenance requests and updating logs
The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and quality-focused work. Required skills include:
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Plastic injection moulding machines and auxiliaries
- General mobile and fixed plant equipment used in production
- General welding and soldering skills
- General machining capabilities
- General electrical and electronics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player with a proactive approach and ability to prioritise
- High attention to detail and flexible attitude
- Understanding of the manufacturing process and production priorities
Candidates must hold a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner) qualification, a Restricted Electrical Licence, and Australian Motor Vehicle and Fork Lift Licences.
This role requires a fit, active, healthy person capable of working in an environment demanding reasonable manual handling and agility.
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, plus superannuation and company bonus. Parking and proximity to public transport are also available.
