Supporting Individuals with Disabilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and increase their independence.

About the Role:

  • To support our participants in developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
  • To help prevent social isolation and encourage participation in activities.
  • To develop engaging activities for participants when they are unable to access the community.
  • To promote engagement in activities within the framework of respect for the needs of the participant and promotion of personal choice.
  • In consultation with the participant's Support Coordinator, develop community access support plans.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Minimum Certificate III in Disability/Mental Health or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience supporting people with disabilities.
  • Self-motivated, high level of initiative, and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
  • Sound administration and computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Team player, flexible with a positive attitude.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, evaluation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • A current Driver's License and a registered, insured vehicle.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
  • NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Training – Worker Orientation Module.
