Animal Care Support Role
This role provides additional support to our nursing team in achieving greater efficiency and delivering high-quality patient care. As an animal attendant, you will be passionate about animal wellbeing and husbandry.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Cage cleaning and re-setting
- Assisting with patient feeding, walking and providing water under nurse instruction
- Supporting the nursing team with unpacking disposable and pharmacy orders under nurse instruction
- Maintaining cleanliness of hospital areas throughout the day/evening as required, including floors in treatment and ward spaces
- Daily laundry upkeep and restocking
- Cleaning of patient dishes
Key skills for success in this role include a Certificate II/III in Animal Studies and previous experience in the animal care industry. You must also be adaptable, enthusiastic and possess excellent communication skills. Working well with all levels of hospital team members is crucial, as is a passion for making a real difference to the wellbeing of patients.
