Firefighter - Community Safety and Response

As an On-Call Firefighter with NSW Government, you will play a vital role in protecting people, property, and the environment in your local community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Responding to fires and other emergencies, such as motor vehicle accidents or chemical hazards
- Undertaking community fire safety work, including education and engagement with local communities
- Collaborating with other emergency services, including NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW Police
To be successful in this role, you will need to be:
- Team-oriented and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Community-focused and able to engage with local communities
- Adaptable and able to respond to changing situations
- Reliable and able to commit to attendance at incidents and training sessions
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold a valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station
As an On-Call Firefighter, you will receive ongoing training and development to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to perform your duties effectively.
This will include training in areas such as basic life support, rope work, power tool use, and community engagement skills.
You will also be required to attend regular drill sessions and training exercises to maintain your skills and knowledge.
