Offender Rehabilitation Specialist

Play a critical role in offender rehabilitation and community safety as an Offender Rehabilitation Specialist. This position involves supporting offenders to successfully complete their court orders while balancing risks to community safety.

About the Role

You will manage a case load of offenders with varying order requirements aimed at reducing their risk of reoffending based in Melbourne. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and preparing comprehensive case plans.
  • Providing targeted interventions and addressing the root causes of offending behavior.
  • Directing and monitoring compliance with offender's court order obligations.
Key Requirements

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • Experience or understanding of effective case management practices, with expertise in proactively managing risk with complex individuals.
  • Experience or understanding of modeling pro-social behaviors, motivating, and influencing individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Proficiency in working within legislative frameworks.
  • Assertiveness and confidence in dealing with challenging situations and behaviors.
  • Capability to produce detailed reports and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines.

A relevant qualification in social work, human services, criminal justice, or criminology is also desirable.
