Distribution Specialist Opportunity

Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Distribution Network Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their requests, and undertaking relevant engineering activities and technical network assessments to ensure a safe and compliant connection is achieved.

• Documenting variations to procedures, programmes and processes.
• Complying with all legal and contracting requirements.
• Preparing and/or checking estimates for projects encompassing materials, labour, sub-contract services and costing for work associated with construction activities and commissioning on complex circuits and associated apparatus or services.
• Completing all documentation, ordering of materials, entering and maintaining information in applicable computer systems.
• Undertaking a significant degree of contract administration to ensure contractor compliance to specification and identifying non-conformances of contractors. This includes reviewing designs, work performance, works programs and preparing reports for submission to the team leader.
• Responding to customer correspondence and answering questions from the general public, various government departments and industry on quotes issued via DQM.

Requirements:

• Possessing an Advanced Diploma in a relevant electrical discipline.
• At least 5+ years' post-qualification extensive experience in distribution network-related activities with a thorough knowledge of principles of the relevant discipline and a sound understanding of methods and practices.
• A sound knowledge of Safety policies and procedures is essential.
• General knowledge of project, contract and works management systems and tools is necessary.
• A sound knowledge of Distribution Engineering standards, regulations, and procedures applicable.
• Proficiency in appropriate key computer systems & applications, including: DQM, MicroStation (CAD), ArcGis and Network maps.
• Sound communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
