Industry Advocacy Director

We are seeking a strategic and politically astute leader to drive national advocacy and policy strategy on behalf of the sector.
- Drive national advocacy and policy strategy on behalf of the sector
- Engage with ministers, regulators, and industry stakeholders at the highest levels
- Coordinate priorities across a federated structure and member organisations
- Lead communications to strengthen the voice and impact
- Oversee governance, operations, and strategic implementation for the Board
This role requires someone with senior leadership experience in a peak body, government, or complex stakeholder environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to shape policy and influence public outcomes, sophisticated communication and negotiation skills, a strong understanding of governance and federated structures, and a collaborative, credible, and forward-thinking leadership style.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, building relationships, and representing the organisation at the highest levels. They will work closely with the Board to develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes that support the organisation's goals and objectives.
In addition to their technical expertise, the ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including members, governments, and other external partners.
They will also have a strong understanding of the industry and its key issues, as well as the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to identify opportunities and challenges, and develop effective solutions to drive organisational success.
