Job Opportunity

Canonical, a pioneering tech firm, is seeking an expert in open source technologies to join their global team. As a Field Engineer, you will play a crucial role in helping the company's biggest partners understand and adopt their open source platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark on-premises or in public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX.
  • Collaborate with partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of public clouds and in the data center.
  • Develop and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners.
  • Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, and software automation.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing solutions on top of public or private clouds.
  • Strong understanding of Python and bash programming languages, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field experience.
