As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Shire, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Shire, aligning with the Council's vision and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the organization to achieve its goals and objectives, ensuring effective governance and management practices.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the Shire's operations are efficient and effective.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Councillors, staff, and the community.
  • Ensure the Shire's financial resources are managed effectively, developing and implementing budgets and financial plans.
  • Provide support and guidance to Councillors, ensuring they are informed and equipped to make informed decisions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles, preferably in local government or a similar sector.
  • Strong understanding of local government operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and manage change, ensuring the Shire's operations are efficient and effective.
  • Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Ability to work in a remote cross-cultural community, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented.
