About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Practitioner to fill a challenging position as a General Surgery Fellow.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team in Launceston, Tasmania.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility.

As a key member of our team, you will provide after-hours emergency cover at the allocated site/facility as determined by the Head of Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake approved general surgical outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Participate in the after-hours Registrar/Consultant on-call rosters.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for surgical registrars and RMOs in training.
  • Assist with quality improvement, audit and service improvement within the Department of Surgery.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility.
  • Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit.

Eligibility Criteria

  • General, provisional, or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
