Role Overview

In the capacity of a Mechanical Tradesperson, your responsibilities will encompass the repair, servicing, and maintenance of Western Power's heavy vehicles and mobile plant. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all equipment operates safely and complies with both manufacturer and Australian Standards. Your key tasks will include:

  • Executing both planned and reactive maintenance work, including inspections, complex fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting issues related to the servicing of heavy vehicles and mobile plant equipment.
  • Modifying equipment in accordance with project specifications and engineering designs, such as adapting vehicles for enhanced functionality.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle or Mobile Plant Mechanic.
  • Relevant Trade qualification (AQF3) in Heavy Duty Mechanical applications.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems and low voltage electrical components.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a high-performing team.
  • Valid WA 'C' class driver's license (essential).
  • Valid WA 'HR' Driver's License (desirable).
  • High Risk licenses for EWP, Dogging, and Forklift (desirable).
  • Motor Vehicle Repairer's Certificate for HVW and LVW (desirable).
