About this opportunity
We're seeking an Underground Charge Up Operator to join our team at the Cannington Mine in Queensland.
This is a challenging role that requires strong operational blasting knowledge and advice to client's blast crews and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work in unison with teammates to provide excellence in service to valued customers, while demonstrating our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always'.
Key Responsibilities- Operating MCU vehicles and associated blasting plant and machinery in Development and Production;
- Providing operational blasting knowledge and advice to client's blast crews and stakeholders;
- Assisting with preventative maintenance on associated plant and machinery;
- Delivering explosive products into blast holes on bench;
- Working in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts and roster requirements;
- Previous experience working as an underground charge up operator is essential;
- Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license or ability to obtain one within 4 weeks;
- Experience with electronic blasting systems would be an advantage;
- A commitment and attitude toward Safety, Health and Environment;
- A current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or ability to obtain one;
- The ability to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical;
Please note: Only suitable candidates based in Townsville, Mt Isa, or Brisbane will be considered. This role offers a FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) or DIDO (Drive-In Drive-Out) arrangement, with onsite camp accommodation and all meals provided.
