Overview of the Grounds and Gardens Supervisor Role

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and gardens of a hospital. Key responsibilities include operating basic garden equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the grounds and gardens of the hospital
  • Operate basic garden equipment and machinery
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy at all times
  • Problem solve and use initiative to communicate with other staff, clients, and visitors
  • Work cooperatively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team
Requirements:
  • Understanding of hygiene standards, infection control practices, food safety standards, workplace health and safety, total quality management, equal employment opportunity, and anti-discrimination practices
  • Vaccinated against certain vaccine-preventable diseases and COVID-19
  • Ability to work in porterage, cleaning, waste, and laundry services
