About CPB Contractors

CPB Contractors is a leading construction company involved in the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium, comprising Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction, and China Construction Oceania, will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project under a Public Private Partnership model.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Permit Compliance Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Permit Manager, this role will be responsible for effectively managing the permit-to-work procedure and ensuring compliance across the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain permit workflows in accordance with company procedures and policies.
  • Evaluate and ensure that the Permit to Work procedure meets relevant safety KPIs and project objectives.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers to prepare and submit permits.
  • Process permit applications and verify supporting documentation from requestors.
  • Conduct site walks with engineers and supervisors prior to issuing permits.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits issued and track compliance status.
  • Attend coordination meetings to discuss and manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) issues.
  • Prepare and provide information required for monthly reports on building and construction activities.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Permit Coordinator or similar role.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems.
  • Hold Permit Issuer MSMWHS217, MSMWHS201, MSMPER300 certifications.
  • Prior experience working on construction or mining projects is highly desirable.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and analytical skills.
