About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team at the Gawler Aquatic Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety of our patrons, responding to first aid and emergency situations, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patron Safety: Actively supervise all pools and ensure the safety of patrons.
  • Watch Around Water: Promote the Watch Around Water principles to the public.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to first aid and emergency situations as per training and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend team meetings and training sessions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safe work practices and WHS policies.
  • Centre Operations: Assist with the effective operation and cleanliness of the Centre.
  • Customer Service: Provide high levels of customer service and positively promote Centre programs to patrons and members of the local community.
  • Reception Duties: Handle cash accurately and undertake reception duties as needed.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • First Aid: Provide First Aid certification.
  • Pool Lifeguard: Pool Lifeguard certification.
  • CPR: CPR certification.
  • Working With Children Check: Working With Children Check certification.
Desirable Qualifications
  • AUSTSWIM or equivalent: AUSTSWIM or equivalent Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Qualification.
  • Pool Plant Operator: Pool Plant Operator certification.
  • Child Safe Environments/Mandated Notification: Child Safe Environments/Mandated Notification certification.
