We are seeking an exceptional Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to drive transformative mechanical design solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.

Job Summary:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing mechanical design engineering team across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Drive the team's global design consistency and standardization of mechanical systems across multiple geographical regions.
  • Manage and approve mechanical equipment innovations and design submissions.
  • Establish robust processes for internal design development and third-party vendor management.
  • Oversee procurement and technical specifications for mechanical Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment.
  • Manage team reporting, hiring, growth opportunities, annual goal reporting, KPIs, and performance reviews.

A day in the life of our ideal candidate would involve:

  • Strategic planning and innovative design reviews.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop mechanical solutions.
  • Navigating complex technical challenges, managing vendor relationships, and making critical decisions that impact our global data center infrastructure.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement design standards and best practices to ensure global consistency.
  2. Lead a high-performing team of mechanical design engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
  3. Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of designs.
  4. Drive process improvements and efficiency gains in design development and vendor management.
  5. Develop and manage budgets and forecasts to ensure effective resource allocation.
  6. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure design accuracy and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative design solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working with cloud-based design tools and technologies.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
