As a Wildlife Conservation Specialist with the Queensland Government, you will play a vital role in protecting and conserving the state's unique native wildlife. Your focus will be on managing wildlife populations, including working with crocodiles, cassowaries, and flying-foxes. You will work closely with regional teams to deliver services that conserve and protect wildlife and their habitats.

The role involves providing expert advice and assessment on permits and other authorities under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. You will also be responsible for auditing and ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations. Your work will contribute to the sustainable use of Queensland's natural resources and the protection of its unique biodiversity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing wildlife management plans
  • Providing expert advice on wildlife conservation and management
