Job Title: Finance Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst to join our team at Australian Venue Co. As a key member of our Management Accounting team, you will play a critical role in achieving a timely and accurate month-end close, supporting key stakeholders with decision-making, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Profit & Loss Reporting: Prepare and finalize monthly venue profit and loss statements, including review and reconciliation of Food and Beverage sales and cost of goods sold, analysis of venue labour costs, and preparation of venue level operating expense accruals.
  • Business Partnering: Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders, including the finance team, venue managers, and other department heads, and engage as an active member of the finance team, contributing to team meetings.
  • Weekly Analysis of Profit & Loss: Review weekly venue profit and loss statements against budget to identify favourable or unfavourable variances.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and investigate and resolve any material reconciling items that exist in account reconciliations performed.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualified in finance/accounting
  • Part CA or CPA preferred but not essential
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience within a large or mid-tier accounting firm or a similar role in industry
  • Experience in use of accounting applications and ability to adapt to new systems
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills
