About the job:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Sandy Point Quarry.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and repair work on quarry machinery, including crushers, mobile earthmoving equipment, and vehicles.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure effective scheduling and prioritization of repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Providing training and support to maintenance staff to improve reliability and reduce reoccurring issues.
- Fabricating and welding new and replacement parts.
- Performing gas cutting, gas welding, arc welding, and mig welding tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- A Trade Qualified Fitter (Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
- Proven experience working on repairing mobile and fixed plants, including crushing & screening equipment.
- Prior experience in planning and carrying out preventative and scheduled maintenance.
- Previous experience in fabrication and welding.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform breakdown repairs.
- Strong commitment to safety and proactive approach to hazard identification.
